Les Paul, of the namesake Gibson guitar model, died today at the age of 94. If you don't know the name, do yourself a favor and check out THIS and THIS and THIS.
I had the pleasure of meeting him in 1976 and again in 1998. A fine fellow indeed, and he had a great sense of humor, too.
